Alternative title: Coasting through Kilbirnie
Josh Pedersen once said, "You're going to have a great mission but you're never going to baptize a single person."
And he's right.
Because I'm a sister missionary, so I don't have the priesthood.
BUT, I did get to witness our best friend Jordan enter the waters of baptism on Saturday. As he walked into the water, I whispered, "Any last words as a heathen?" And he said, "No."
And just like that, he was perfect. At the same moment, Sister Christensen and I became the first sisters to witness a baptism in the Irvine ward, and possibly the Paisley stake which was organized exactly 40 years ago. All the old ladies in the ward were so pleased they couldn't stop talking about it on Sunday.
At the same moment, Zion's army gained a h*ck of a soldier that is here now and is here to stay until the work is done. He has perspectives and a heart and a brain that this work needs and needs NOW and THAT's the timing of God's plan!
And the secret is, God needs you too! He needs YOUR perspective, YOUR heart, YOUR brain!! That's why YOU'RE here! RIGHT NOW! It's SO COOL!
In the words of the prophet of the final dispensation, “The Standard of Truth has been erected;
no unhallowed hand can stop the work from progressing;
persecutions may rage,
mobs may combine,
armies may assemble,
calumny may defame,
but the truth of God will go forth boldly, nobly, and independent,
till it has penetrated every continent,
visited every clime,
swept every country,
and sounded in every ear,
till the purposes of God shall be accomplished,
and the Great Jehovah shall say the work is done.”
And so can YOU!
